When?
10 & 31 March 2019
What happened?
The linemen, OTE co-workers, visited the museum for a second year and climbed high, on the Pillar they set up last year, having beside them worthy supporters, our little friends, who participated in this educational program.
The “daring” ones
Many of the children, boys and girls, wanted to climb the Pillar and feel like linemen for a while and our co-workers granted their wish, guiding them with care so that, wearing the special climbing harness (Baudrier) and a helmet, they would achieve a safe climbing.
Learn about Linemen
Did you know that fear of heights is an obstacle if you want to become a lineman? That they are constantly trained? That up until today there has never been a female lineman? That there are 50 linemen working in OTE Group and that, like the proverbial men from the island of Chios, the also come in pairs?
This sort of information was provided to the children who participated in the program, along with the chance to touch the tools and suit of a lineman and understand what it feels like to work many meters above the ground, under dangerous and challenging conditions (snow, rain etc.). The goal is one: the communication must never stop!
Who visited us
