What happened

The Museum took part in the festival with an exhibition of vintage telephones and an art workshop, offering to the thousands of visitors two days of fun and knowledge.

The exhibition

At the exhibition titled “PHONE HOME: from the Telecommunications Museum to planet Π100” the young visitors stood in wonder before the manually operated device of 1909, with the crank on its side, and asked: “How did you make a call?”The older visitors admired the “black beauty” of 1948, and even tried to use the rotary dial to make a call! In the 1970's coin phone... there was no coin!

The educational programme

In the workshop titled: “Around the museums of the world in just 45 minutes!”, parents and children toured the museums of the world, including the Telecommunications Museum. After they saw how phones from the 1950s and 1980s worked, they created a colourful collage!

We were visited

by around 1000 visitors at our Museum's exhibition & 150 parents and children participated in our technology workshop
