Telecommunications VS modern art? Can they communicate?
The curators of @biennale visited our Museum and stood before the advertising posters of previous decades. How could their vintage visuals or the manner in which they promoted – advertised the object, not make an impression? After all, this is why they were selected for our participation in this year’s @ΑΝΤΙ exhibition!
In a “brief meeting”, the Telecommunications Museum is present, leaving its own mark, at the emblematic Telecommunications, Telegrams and Post building, on the 1st and 2nd floor, exhibiting a part of the advertising posters collection.
The posters outline the evolution of advertising and technology of Telecommunications in Greece, via OTE, at the late ‘80s and mostly ‘90s.
Athens Biennale presents the new trends in post-modern art, in an international context of large-scale periodic events.
Four emblematic buildings, vacant, on Stadiou str., are transformed to exhibition areas with an intense dynamic character, loud messages and controversial forms.
Art, once more, proves, in the passage of time, that it can prevail and evolve, despite the living difficulties people are experiencing.
The exhibition includes performances, speeches and projections, 100 works of art, forms and new productions. The biggest part of the Exhibition is spread out on all 5 floors of the building on 15 Stadiou str., carrying the visitor away to a virtual journey, between reality and fantasy, via digital technology and VR, AR, 3D videos as well as via purely visual compositions.
The overall event program of the 6th Biennale lasts until December 10. For more information go to https://anti.athensbiennale.org/
