Museums for education and research
The Museum of Telecommunications celebrates the International Museum Day and the World Telecommunications Day with creative and entertaining activities for everyone inside and outside the Museum from 16 to 19 May. Activities inspired by this year's message linking education and research with entertainment, personal expression and co-creation.
We visit the SOS Children's Villages and the Children Support Centre of Elefsis to play a fun group game of knowledge and observation, inspired by and based on the research work of the Museum's scientific team on the ways of communication in antiquity.
The 1st floor is transformed into a theatre, where the performance "For more laughter stay on the line!" inspired by the story of the telephone operators of the telephone company OTE. In a storytelling workshop we become Messengers and send a telegram to the godesses of antiquity…
A real Juggler is in the museum and through acrobatics, juggling with balls and pins, we experience a magical journey through juggling and telecommunications.
In the new education room on the 2nd floor, in the STEM robotics and engineering labs we build robot runners and moving windmills.
In the courtyard of the Museum in Nea Kifissia is the Food truck canteen for coffee and quality street food, while the Mixed Choir of OTE Athens takes us on a journey into the world of musical creation
