Very successful online art workshops for schools in remote areas of Greece

Art Workshops are being organised with great success online for the first time, addressed exclusively to schools in remote areas of Greece.

Since early November, 4 workshops have been held, in which 1,140 kindergarten and elementary school pupils took part, from 35 schools in different prefectures of the country.

The workshops will continue into the New Year as part of the Museum’s effort to reach every corner of the country.

A few words about the Art Workshops
The workshops titled “Musical instruments from recycled materials” (Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade) and “The Museum in our suitcase” (4th-6th Grade) are addressed to kindergarten and elementary School students, respectively. The youngest students learn about important issues such as recycling and environmental protection, and construct musical instruments such as drums, maracas and bells, while the older students, inspired by the art work titled “the suitcases” by artist Alexis Akrithakis, and guided by artists and a museum educator, make their own “suitcase” artwork using recycled materials from telephones, sounds and stories.
