World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5 and is the UN's main event since 1972 to inform the global community about the environmental problems humanity is facing.
With air pollution and how to deal with it being the key theme for this year, the UN is calling for ways to address it as one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time.
With small or big changes in our daily lives, we can help reduce the air pollution we produce ourselves and at the same time stop contributing to global warming, thereby reducing our health impacts.
Our contribution to this day's celebration comes with a "Telephoto", from the large archive of our Collection, which depicts the collective action of women in Thessaloniki in 1982 to protect the environment by cleaning the space in front of the White Tower!
