With 450 visitors<\/strong>, we celebrated for 4 consecutive days<\/strong>, inside and outside the Museum<\/strong>, on the occasion of International Museum Day<\/strong> and World Telecommunications Day<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What could be more authentic than the words of our visitors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The renovated Museum space is beautiful<\/strong><\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wish it would never end! We love the OTE Museum!\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKeep up your wonderful work! Very friendly staff! Very warm environment! Thank you very much for the beautiful experience!\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe team was great, the scenario of the theatre performance was very clever, and the music was super! It was really nice to see the woman who was a telephone operator in the 1970s! <\/em><\/strong>Thank you, OTE Museum<\/em>!!!\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe performance was amazing!!!The actors were excellent! Mrs. Vlachouta was very kind and sweet, and she moved us!!! OTE Museum, our beloved institution of knowledge and development, keep going, and we\u2019ll be your faithful followers!\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get a taste of what happened in and outside the Museum:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started our actions outside the Museum<\/strong> and visited the SOS Children\u2019s Villages<\/strong> and the Love Center of Elefsina<\/strong> on 16 & 17 May<\/strong>. 70 children<\/strong> participated in the “Tsaka Tsaka” group game of knowledge and observation, inspired by and based on the research work of the Museum\u2019s<\/strong> scientific team on the ways people communicated in antiquity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the weekend of 18 & 19 May<\/strong>, more than 350 visitors<\/strong> participated in the Museum\u2019s<\/strong> free<\/strong> educational activities for all ages!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the theatrical performance<\/strong> \u201cFor more laughter, stay on the line,\u201d <\/strong>from the Chiliodentri<\/strong> group, we travelled to the equator in the 1970s, where a comet passed by the earth. That day, a girl was waiting for a phone call from her father who was in the Indian Ocean, and a telephone operator was working at the call centre… Suddenly the telephone network crashed and a mail pigeon took action to restore the lines … The show took its inspiration from the book written by a 1970s OTE<\/strong> telephone operator, Zoe Vlachouta<\/strong>, who was there with us, talked to the audience, and signed her books, writing personal dedications for each child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The OTE Group Athens Chorus<\/strong> sang the Beatles<\/strong> song \u201cAll You Need Is Love<\/strong>,\u201d improvising with the children in the renovated exhibition spaces on the 2nd floor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a real juggler<\/strong>, young and old alike took a magical musical journey through the art of juggling<\/strong> and telecommunications<\/strong>, through acrobatics on a unicycle and magic tricks with glowing balls and clubs! And that\u2019s not all! In the new<\/strong> classroom on the 2nd floor<\/strong> \u2013 in the STEM<\/strong> robotics and engineering workshops \u2013 young scientists built robot runners<\/strong> and moving windmills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the celebration<\/strong> continued with storytelling<\/strong> workshops, where the children became messengers, wrote a telegram <\/strong>on a current issue that concerns them, and sent it to the goddess Aphrodite, crossing great distances with a map and their imaginations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
