To mark the passing of the Greek pop singer Tolis Voskopoulos, we remember some of his photographs from the Telecommunications Museum’s telephotography collection. These photographs, sent via the OTE telephotographic service to the newspaper ‘Macedonia’ by photojournalist Timis Argyropoulos, depict Tolis on his wedding day with Marinella in November 1973.
Our collection includes over 13,500 photos transmitted via the OTE telephotographic service from 1949 to the early 1990s. This service almost exclusively served the needs of photo news reports, and the photographs published in the press over these 4 decades reflect all of the important aspects of the country’s political, social, sports, and cultural life.
