Smiling Prints

When did emojis first appear? Which emoji was named the word of the year for 2015? How did we go from a simple symbol to expressing ourselves with hundreds of faces every day?

We embark on a journey through the history of digital communication—from the first text messages to the emojis on our mobile screens. We watch a video about the colorful art of pop art and Andy Warhol and… we get down to business!

We learn about the art of monotype—where each print is unique—and create our own personal emoji, full of color, texture, and imagination!
