Building design archive

FROM RECORDING TO THE UNEXPECTED

The OTE Building Design Archive is in itself a rare and comprehensive collection of drawings, mostly architectural, but also including selected mechanical and structural drawings.

This is an archival collection of historical significance that includes original designs by important architects and engineers. The archive contains designs that became landmarks in Greece, constructions that were innovative for their time, buildings that express architectural trends, and facilities that hosted the development of telecommunications technology. OTE buildings, unique elements in the public space, were influenced by the dynamics and color provided by their use, everyday life, and the people who, whether as architects, technicians, or subscribers/customers, give meaning to each space.

This album presents a representative sample of designs from 1950 to 2000, taking the reader on a journey through forms and trends, such as modernism and postmodernism, as well as classicist and traditional styles.

Rare photographs of the buildings from the days of their construction, as well as from the days of their noisy operation, will give you the overall picture and experience of an archive that has form, life, art, talent, and a lot of passion from all the people who created it, maintained it, and studied it so that it could be here in front of us, digitally available to everyone, forever.

Click and enjoy images, drawings, and interpretations of buildings that we still encounter in our daily lives.

Enjoy!
