For the 3rd consecutive year, we are continuing our online journey to remote schools in Greece with the art workshop 'Telegram from the Museum', for pupils in Kindergarten and the 1st and 2nd years of Elementary School.
We started our journey on Monday, 6 November, connecting via a digital platform with 9 schools and 250 students in various places in Greece. Elementary schools in Agios Syllas (Heraklion, Crete), Lakithra Kefalonia, Amykles Sparta; Ano Syros; Kalamata; Deskati Grevena, Patras; Kastoria, and Aisonia Dimini (Volos) participated in the workshop.
The workshop was inspired by the telegram delivery bicycle in our Museum’s Permanent Exhibition.
The children used fabric, buttons, caps, straws, paper-towel rolls, ribbons, fasteners and corks, and the Museum also sent each school a free kit box with more supplies, including scissors, crafts glue, pencils, craft cardboard and a printout of a bicycle.
We'll be holding the next workshop on 18 December! Any rural elementary school interested in participating should contact [email protected]
