What happened
The Museum participated in the conference of the Greek Section of the TICCIH (International Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage) organized in Larissa from 2 to 5 October on "The Greek industrial heritage in the years of crisis".
The Museum, in the context of its work concerning research, documentation, preservation, historical study and promotion of the history of telecommunications in Greece and, of course, the collections of archives and documents at its disposal, has been seeking and recording oral testimonies of former OTE employees in recent years.
On this occasion, he presented at the conference the paper entitled "An OTE Engineer of 1960 describes in words & pictures, the ways, the people & the technology that changed Greece". It was based on the oral testimony of the retired Mr. Konstantinos Kostoulas, who served as head of the technical department of OTE Epirus-Corfu from 1960 to 1981. The contact with him was an experience that led to the discovery of rare visual material from the technical work of extending and restoring the networks carried out by the crews in the mountainous and rugged areas of Epirus in the 1960s.
