On the evening of 26 July, dozens of boats will carry thousands of athletes along the River Seine, marking the start of the Olympic Games in Paris.

However, this year's Games also mark the 20th anniversary of the Athens 2024 Olympic Games, which influenced the modern history of Greece, mainly due to the facilities and infrastructure created, but also the historical course of the Games, as their successful organization was ideally combined with their return to their birthplace.

OTE, recognizing the importance of the event for the country and its citizens, contributed as a Major National Sponsor to the holding of "Athens 2004".

Apart from providing the necessary telecommunications infrastructure, OTE developed actions such as "Athlopolis", a thematic road-show aimed at informing and entertaining citizens in 33 cities of the territory on issues related to the Games, and "One Idea, One Team, One Voice", a TV campaign that referred to the systematic effort of athletes of four Olympic sports (weightlifting, road race, high jump and relay) and was related to the activities of OTE and COSMOTE.

In the Collections of the Telecommunications Museum you can see objects and memorabilia of the 2004 Games, such as collectible pins, telecards, brochures, pens, key rings, tickets, etc., which recall memories of the Athens Olympics, which, thanks to the willingness and enthusiasm of the volunteers and all those who worked for their realization, left a positive imprint in the consciousness of the Greek society.
