The International Council of Museums (ICOM) has established since 1977 the 18th of May as the International Museum Day. With a variety of events and activities, the Museums around the world open their doors to the public with free entrance and focus on a particular theme that concerns their role in modern society, like this year’s theme Hyperconnected Museums. New approaches, new publics.
The OTE Group Telecommunications Museum is selected as the honored Museum of Greece for the year 2018. Celebrating this year’s theme about the “Hyperconnectivity” of new approaches and publics, the Greek department of ICOM decided to honor the only museum in Greece that combines technology and communication. The Telecommunications Museum, on its part, celebrates the International Museum Day with a four-day schedule of events on May 17,18,19 & 20, full of activities and educational programs for children, parents and senior people.
