The OTE Tower is preparing to welcome visitors to the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), which will take place from 7 to 15 September.
The iconic tower will once again be the focus of admiration for TIF participants and visitors alike. It is a 76-metre-high structure designed by architect Alexandros Anastasiadis, which was built in two phases:
In 1969, within just four months, the first part of the Tower was constructed, which was unveiled at the opening of the 34th TIF. On the first floor was the new OTE pavilion, while the basement housed the first production studio and the first broadcasting station outside Athens.
The following year the works were completed and in September 1970 it began to operate in its present form, constituting the OTE pavilion at the TIF for many years.
The Museum's photo collection includes many photographs from earlier TIFs, mainly from the 1970s, as well as corporate photographs from OTE's history, including several with representations of the Tower during its 55 years of operation.
