Fitce visits our Museum

It was a great pleasure to welcome the Greek association of the Federation of Telecommunications Engineers of the European Community (FITCE) to the Museum on Friday, 29 September.
Fitce has been operating since 1982 and is active in the Telecommunications and IT sectors. On the occasion of the 62nd International Congress in Athens (28 & 29 September), titled ‘Services and Infrastructures towards a smart society’, participants from various European countries, such as England, Belgium and Germany, accompanied by the president of Fitce, Kostantinos Sidiropoulos, and the Secretary General, Panagiotis Exarchos, visited the Museum and toured the exhibition spaces of the 1st & 2nd floor.
They were particularly impressed by the hall of Ancient Greek telecommunication inventions and by the renovated exhibition space on the 2nd floor, where they had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the new thematic units of the Museum, including the global telegraph and telephone network of the 19th & 20th centuries, manual and automatic telephony, analogue and digital telephone exchanges, the first television studio, the history of the Internet and Gaming!
